barcelona - Veteran goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has signed a new two-year contract with Barcelona, prolonging his stay at the LaLiga champions until 2027. Szczęsny returned from retirement to help Barça win the domestic treble last season.

Barcelona Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny Signs New Two-Year Deal

Barcelona announced on Monday that veteran goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2027.

Contract Extension Details

Szczęsny, aged 35, rejoined Barça last year and played a vital role in securing a domestic treble after Marc-André ter Stegen's injury.

Return from Retirement

Szczęsny, a former Poland international, had initially retired in 2024 but reversed his decision to assist Barcelona. He became a fan favorite for his performances and candid nature.

Goalkeeper Situation at Barcelona

With four first-team goalkeepers including Ter Stegen, Peña, and García, Barça may need to offload players before the new season. Sources suggest Peña is open to leaving, and offers for Ter Stegen will be considered.

Szczęsny's extension adds experience and depth to Barcelona's squad as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
