Trump: Return to climate agreement can

washington - US President Trump does not rule out the US joining the international climate agreement that was concluded in Paris in December 2015. He said Wednesday that it is possible if the US gets a better deal in the agreement.

Trump thinks that the international climate agreements have been made with basic principles that affect US industry and the economy very heavily and that other big polluters are spared.

In the agreement, almost the whole world promises to set and comply with objectives to limit the assumed rise in temperature on Earth to a maximum of 2 degrees. Emissions of greenhouse gases must be reduced quickly, the agreement recommends, without having to impose harsh obligations.

Trump and his entourage are skeptical about global warming. After becoming president in January last year, he announced in the summer that his country was leaving the agreement. According to the rules of the climate agreement, termination is only possible after three years. The US would therefore formally no longer be a party until November 2020.
