- Manchester City is eyeing Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo in the upcoming transfer window, facing competition from Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Arsenal for the £65m talent.

Manchester City Eyes Antoine Semenyo Amid Transfer Speculation

Manchester City is closely watching Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo as the January transfer window approaches. Semenyo, with a £65 million release clause, is attracting interest from top Premier League clubs.

Intense Competition Expected

City is not alone in their pursuit of Semenyo. Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, and Arsenal are all potential contenders to trigger his release clause amid uncertainties around Mohamed Salah's future.

Semenyo's standout performance this season has put him in the spotlight, with 7 goals in 15 games at Bournemouth.

Release Clause Dynamics

The £65 million release clause is only active for the initial two weeks of January, ensuring Bournemouth's ability to replace Semenyo promptly if he departs. However, the clause may be reactivated at a reduced fee in the summer.

Despite Semenyo's recent contract extension until 2025, expectations persist that he might depart either in January or the following summer.

Impressive Performance Trajectory

Having joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023, Semenyo's goal-scoring prowess has been on an upward trajectory, with 11 goals in 37 games in his second season and 8 goals in 33 games during the 2023-24 campaign.

Semenyo's decision not to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations due to Ghana's failure to qualify further underscores his commitment to club duties.
