lusaka - Eight people were killed and 28 injured when they arrived at the destruction at a food distribution in the Zambian capital Lusaka. An estimated 35,000 people had come to the distribution, organized by a religious group.
The police will conduct an investigation. Among the dead are six women and a child.
Southern Africa faces drought since 2015. Food is therefore scarce and expensive in Zambia. More than half of the 16 million inhabitants live below the World Bank poverty line. Lying at an income of less than $ 1.25 (1.18 euros) per day
