washington - President Trump persists in promoting divisive Gaza plan despite opposition from all sides.

President Trump's Controversial Gaza Plan

President Donald Trump continues to advocate for his controversial Gaza plan, despite facing backlash from both domestic and international fronts. The proposal, which envisions transferring the devastated Gaza Strip from Israel to the US, is met with strong opposition.

In a recent social media post, Trump reiterated his stance on the issue, suggesting that the two million Palestinians residing in Gaza should be relocated 'elsewhere in the region.' The logistics and practicality of such a mass displacement remain unclear, with no country willing to accommodate the population.

Trump proposed that the US, with assistance from global construction teams, would oversee the redevelopment of Gaza without the need for American troops. The president emphasized that this move would bring stability to the entire region, sidestepping discussions of temporary relocation or Palestinian return, as previously suggested by key officials.

Despite widespread criticism of the plan, including concerns raised by Palestinian, Arab, and European nations, Trump reaffirmed his support for the initiative unveiled during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to the White House. The proposal, which challenges the longstanding two-state solution, has been dismissed as 'unrealistic' even by Republican members of Congress.

Republican senators, including Rand Paul and Lindsey Graham, expressed reservations about the potential involvement of US troops in Gaza, labeling the idea as 'problematic' and 'unwise.' Special Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff attempted to garner congressional support by assuring senators that no American troops or financial aid would be deployed to Gaza, underscoring that Trump's vision had been under consideration for some time.

The plan, shared with Netanyahu prior to his official White House meeting, received praise from the Israeli premier who commended Trump for the initiative. Israeli preparations for the 'voluntary migration' of Palestinians signal a strategic shift to prevent Hamas from regaining control in Gaza post-conflict.

The forthcoming meeting between Trump and Jordan's King Abdullah II underscores ongoing efforts to address the complex Gaza situation and regional stability concerns.
