Syrian opposition calls cease Geneva

geneva - The main Syrian opposition group has withdrawn from the negotiations held in Geneva at the United Nations. According to UN envoy Staffan de Mistura has taken the decision in protest against the deteriorating conditions in Syria.

The Supreme Negotiation remains in the Swiss city to participate in informal discussions, said De Mistura. The opposition and the Syrian government are still far apart, according to the UN envoy, although both sides have been talking about a political transition.
