Surviving Auschwitz oldest man in the world

- It can happen. Yisrael Kristal was arrested at the age of forty by the Germans in 1944 and deported to Auschwitz with his wife, a place where a human life was worth nothing. But he survived the extermination camp and the year 2016 is the former candy merchant at 112 years of age, against all expectations, the oldest man in the world.

Last week the Japanese Yasutaro Koide died at 112 years of age, until that moment, the oldest man. Kristal lost him. In September, he will be 113 years old.

Yisrael Kristal was born in Poland on September 15, 1903. He came with his wife and two children into the Lodz ghetto. His children died in the ghetto and his wife did not survive Auschwitz. Crystal took off in 1950 with his second wife and son Chaim to Israel, where he was in Haifa, as well as in Poland, again began a candy factory.
