Stem cell technology has to save white rhino

- Scientists want with stem cell techniques save the northern white rhino from extinction. By the death this year of two specimens in zoos in the US and the Czech Republic, now living only three of the animals in Kenya, including a male.

The international team of scientists wants to grow through stem-cells sperm and eggs which artificially transform into an embryo. Which will in a surrogate mother, for example, a southern white rhino, are placed in the hope that hatch viable boy.

One of the participating organizations, the Leibniz-Institut für Zoo- Wildtier und Forschung in Berlin, the rescue effort announced Tuesday.
