Real Madrid Signs River Plate Star Franco Mastantuono

Real Madrid has announced the signing of Argentine talent Franco Mastantuono from River Plate. The 17-year-old playmaker is currently with River Plate in the United States for the Club World Cup and is set to join Madrid in August.

Background and Deal

Mastantuono, who turns 18 on Aug. 14, 2025, was a target for top European clubs, with Madrid finalizing the deal amid competition from PSG. Despite interest from PSG, the young talent opted for a move to Madrid, where he will be the third summer signing alongside Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Player's Performance and Potential

The Argentine international impressed with River Plate, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 12 appearances this season. His debut for Argentina's national team showcased his potential, coming on as a substitute in their recent World Cup qualifying victory over Chile.

Expectations at Real Madrid

Real Madrid sees Mastantuono as an immediate asset, praising his vision, set-piece ability, and positive attitude. The club aims to bounce back from a trophyless season and believes the young talent will contribute significantly to their success.
