california, los angeles, pacific palisades, eaton canyon, altadena - Forest fires in California, particularly in Los Angeles, have resulted in casualties, destroyed homes, and forced 80,000 people to evacuate. The situation is worsened by power outages affecting 300,000 individuals and risks to about 13,000 properties.

Forest fires in California, mainly in Los Angeles, have caused significant damage and threats to life. The fires, intensified by strong winds, have claimed the lives of 2 individuals and led to the evacuation of 80,000 residents. Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles as firefighting efforts continue.

Furthermore, a second fire near Eaton Canyon, 40 kilometers away from Pacific Palisades, has left approximately 300,000 people without electricity, with around 13,000 homes and businesses at risk. The Los Angeles Fire Department also reported a firefighter suffering a serious head injury during firefighting operations. Many schools in the region have suspended classes, and disruptions are observed in metro lines due to power cuts.

Notable figures like Vice President Kamala Harris and actor Steve Guttenberg have also been affected by the evacuations. Guttenberg, known for his role in the 1984 film Police Academy, shared his efforts to assist friends in the affected area, advising people to leave their car keys in the vehicles for feasible removal. Veteran actor James Woods was among those whose homes were engulfed by flames.

In Altadena, due to the ongoing fire in the Eaton area, dozens of elderly residents from a nursing home were left stranded by the roadside. Officials undertook the challenging task of relocating wheelchair-bound and bedridden individuals to a parking lot, awaiting evacuation by ambulances.
