Seal between bathers sunning Zandvoort

zandvoort - Visitors to the Zandvoort beach are treated to surprising Tuesday companionship. An adult gray seal lying there in the sun to dry.

The seal is a well known guest at the beaches on the Dutch coast. Seal Sanctuary at A-Seal they call him 'Seal 57', referring to the figure that is tattooed on his coat. 'Over Held at the reception in France,' explains volunteer Jaap van der Hiele out.

On the video you can see how the marine mammal on the beach that looks around and then closes his eyes again, just meters away from bathers swimming and running children. A small part of the beach is trimmed with ribbon.

Many people are worried about the seal and call the rescue by other organizations, but that's not necessary at this old seal. 'He is healthy and rest there just out. 'The last time the animal is regularly spotted on the Dutch beaches, Hoek van Holland, Noordwijk and Scheveningen to IJmuiden, nearby Haarlem and Zandvoort.

He's not afraid of people, Van der Hiele will not be such a problem. The animal lover warns that it should take away people and dogs: 'They have sharp teeth!'
