gaza, israel - Hamas delivers the lifeless bodies of 4 Israeli hostages in Gaza as part of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.

Hamas Delivers Hostage Corpses

In accordance with a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement, Hamas handed over the lifeless bodies of 4 Israeli hostages to the Red Cross in Gaza. The hostages, including a mother and two young children who were taken captive after the attacks on October 7, 2023, were delivered in black coffins amidst tight security measures in the region. The bodies were then transported to Israel. During the exchange, attention was drawn to the banners displayed by Hamas.

The banners depicted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a 'vampire' and accused him of killing the hostages with Zionist warplanes' missiles. A Hamas spokesperson had previously stated that the hostages were killed in an Israeli air raid. Netanyahu's last-minute decision not to attend the ceremony was notable. As per the agreement, in exchange for the 4 Israeli bodies, Israel will release a group of Palestinian prisoners on February 22.

Additionally, Dr. Husam Abu Safiye, the director of the Kemal Advan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, who was detained by Israeli forces on December 27, was seen for the first time since his capture. Abu Safiye appeared exhausted, handcuffed, in an Israeli prison cell. It was revealed that he had given an interview to Israel's Channel 13 Television. Abu Safiye is among the Palestinian prisoners set to be released tomorrow.
