tokio - Russia and China will cooperate more closely in the investigation into the moon. Igor Komarov, the boss of Roskosmos, agreed with a representative of the Chinese space agency CNSA during a conference in Tokyo. Both countries have declared their willingness to support each other in lunar projects.

Russia intends, among other things, in 2022 to put the probe 'Loena-Resoers 1' in orbit around the moon. In China, two missions are on the program until 2020. At the end of this year, an unmanned spacecraft must land for the first time on the far side of the moon, which can not be seen from the earth. On the second flight, the 'Chang'e 5' probe has to drop a robot cart, collect soil samples and return them to earth. That would be a first for China.
