Russia and Iran discuss Syrian conflict

tehran - Russia and Iran have unexpectedly Sunday deliberated on the conflict in Syria. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Sjoigoe traveled unannounced to Tehran in order to discuss the latest developments with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

Sjoigoe had a message from his President Vladimir Putin with him. What that message was not disclosed. There was done anyway no substantive statement after the meeting.

Rouhani reiterated that he thinks the civil war is to stop only by diplomatic means and that the Syrians themselves must decide the future of their country. There is consensus between Russia and Iran strongly agree. Both countries also support the regime of Syrian President Assad in Syria and fight the terrorists of the Islamic State.
