Research links Syria with large sarinaanval

the hague - Researchers have for the first time established a link between the great attack with the poison gas sarin in Ghouta and the chemical weapons stock of Syria. During the attack in Ghouta on the outskirts of Damascus, hundreds of people died in 2013.

The link appeared from research commissioned by the organization for the prohibition of chemical weapons OPCW, according to sources around the research. In addition, samples were taken that had been taken by the UN in three places where attacks had occurred. Except in Ghouta, these were attacks in the province of Idlib and the city of Aleppo.

The OPCW announced in October that Syria was held responsible for the attacks in Idlib and Aleppo. On Tuesday it became known that the poison gas that was used during the attack in Ghouta came from the same stock.
