North Korea Challenges 11 Countries on Sanctions Enforcement

North Korea issued a strong response to the Multinational Sanctions Monitoring Team (MSMT) established by 11 countries, calling it an 'illegal' organization hindering the country's legitimate rights.

The North Korean Foreign Ministry emphasized that negotiations to prevent sanctions have never been and are not on their agenda.

The statement highlighted the resilience of North Korea in the face of sanctions, emphasizing the acceleration of building a formidable power despite harsh conditions.

North Korea reaffirmed its commitment to strengthen defense capabilities and warned of serious consequences for countries promoting anti-North Korea sanctions.

The MSMT, consisting of the US, Japan, South Korea, UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and New Zealand, aims to ensure full implementation of UN sanctions against North Korea.

The joint statement following the MSMT meeting in Washington reiterated the determination of participant states to protect international peace, prevent the spread of nuclear weapons, and counter threats from North Korea's weapons programs.

The call for global support in upholding international peace and security against North Korea's violations was emphasized by the MSMT, highlighting the importance of dialogue and unified efforts.
