freetown - Police in Sierra Leone have initiated a manhunt for the fugitive criminal Jos Leijdekkers, also known as 'Bolle Jos', who is suspected to be hiding in the country under a false identity.

Police Hunt for 'Bolle Jos'

The Sierra Leone police have launched a manhunt for the fugitive criminal Jos Leijdekkers, popularly known as 'Bolle Jos'. The Inspector-General of Police, William Fayia Sellu, revealed that Leijdekkers is believed to be posing as Omar Sheriff in the country.

Sellu stated during a press conference, "We have initiated a manhunt to arrest him and have visited several locations, but we have not been able to locate him yet." He urged the public to assist the police in the investigation.

Last month, it came to light that 'Bolle Jos' was potentially in Sierra Leone after being captured on camera with the daughter of the country's president. The Public Prosecutor and the police had been aware of his presence there for six months. On Friday, Minister David van Weel (Justice and Security) mentioned that a request for his extradition will be made "in the foreseeable future."

The 33-year-old from Brabant has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for multiple drug transports and ordering a murder. The Public Prosecutor's Office has offered a reward of 200,000 euros for any valuable information leading to his capture.
