tblisi - Criminal organization exploits women under the guise of surrogacy in Georgia, with hundreds held captive and treated like livestock.

Exploitation of Women in Georgia

Hundreds of women were lured to Georgia under false pretenses of surrogacy, only to be exploited by a criminal organization running a 'breeding farm'.

Three Thai women were rescued from the clutches of the criminal group after being subjected to exploitation for six months, as reported by German newspaper Bild.

One of the victims revealed that they were enticed by a job posting on Facebook, offering to work as surrogate mothers for Georgian couples struggling with infertility. Promised salaries ranged from 11,000 to 17,000 euros, with travel and passport expenses covered by the criminals.

Upon arrival in Georgia in August 2024, the women were housed in a facility dubbed a 'breeding farm' alongside over a hundred others, managed by Chinese criminals who sold their eggs on the black market for potential IVF procedures abroad. The women were administered hormones to stimulate their ovaries and required monthly egg extraction procedures.

In order to leave, the women had to pay 2000 euros to their captors. One woman managed to buy her freedom and alert the founder of a Thai foundation for children and women.

The exact number of women still held captive remains unknown, prompting Thai authorities to launch an investigation into the matter.
