Mother Convicted for Breaking Egg on Daughter's Forehead in TikTok Video

A 24-year-old woman from Sweden has been found guilty of assault for breaking an egg on her 5-year-old daughter's forehead during a live TikTok video.

Incident Details

The incident took place last summer in Helsingborg, a city in southern Sweden. The video showed the mother cracking an egg on her daughter's forehead while baking during a TikTok livestream.

The 5-year-old girl reacted by saying 'oh' and 'don't do that,' while the mother laughed as the yolk dripped down. The video garnered approximately 100,000 views.

Legal Consequences

Following an anonymous tip, the police launched an investigation, leading to the mother's recent conviction for assault. She was ordered to pay a fine of 20,000 Swedish krona (around 1,820 euros) to her daughter as compensation.

The mother denied any wrongdoing, attributing her actions to a TikTok trend. She claimed it was meant as a harmless prank, but the court deemed her behavior 'reckless' and 'offensive.'

Additionally, the woman faced charges of unlawful threats for sending menacing messages to the girl's father following the live stream, leading to a conflict between the parents.
