FIFA data reveals that the January transfer window in men's football set a new record with over $2 billion spent. Premier League champions Manchester City accounted for 10% of this total, splurging $223m on four new players: Omar Marmoush, Nico González, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Vitor Reis.

Manchester City's signings contributed to the Premier League's position as the highest-spending league, with a total outlay of $621.6m. Other top spending leagues included Germany, Italy, France, and Saudi Arabia.
