CHENGDU - China on Wednesday lost a well-known resident. Giant panda Pan Pan is at the age of 31 deceased in captivity. 'Grandpa Panda' had more than 130 offspring, a quarter of captive giant pandas. Pan Pan was born in the wild in Sichuan, but he lived from a few months in captivity in a known sanctuary near Chengdu.
