hamburg, germany - According to preliminary official results, 10 Turkish-origin politicians have been elected to the state parliament in Hamburg.

In the state parliament elections in Hamburg, 10 Turkish-origin politicians have been elected to the 121-member Hamburg State Parliament. The Social Democratic Party (SPD) candidates Cem Berk, Mithat Çapar, Simone Jasmin Gündüz, Ali Kazancı, Oktay Özdemir, Barış Öneş; Christian Democratic Union (CDU) candidate David Erkalp; Green Party candidate Filiz Demirel; Left Party candidates Cansu Özdemir and Deniz Çelik have secured seats in the parliament.

According to preliminary official results of the Hamburg State Parliament elections, SPD received 33.5%, CDU 19.8%, Greens 18.5%, Left Party 11.2%, and the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) received 7.5% of the votes.

Based on the preliminary results, SPD has 45 seats, CDU has 26, Greens have 25, Left Party has 15, and AfD has 10 seats in the parliament. The voter turnout in the state increased by 4.4 percentage points compared to 2020, reaching 67.7%.
