beijing - Chinese Premier Li Qiang announces economic growth target amidst US trade war tensions at National People's Congress in Beijing.

China's Response to US Trade War

Chinese Premier Li Qiang revealed China's economic growth target of around 5% amid escalating tensions with the US over trade tariffs. China vows to fight 'to the bitter end' if the US insists on a trade war, Li stated during the National People's Congress.

The ongoing real estate crisis, high youth unemployment, and pressure on foreign trade are key concerns for China. With a focus on boosting domestic demand, the government plans to invest $41.2 billion in consumer goods exchange programs.

China emphasizes self-reliance in areas like science and technology, with a push for advancements in artificial intelligence and 5G technology. Efforts towards 6G development are also underway.

President Xi Jinping's call for entrepreneurs to maximize their potential, especially in the high-tech sector, aligns with China's goal of promoting self-sufficiency and innovation.

China also reaffirms its commitment to Taiwan reunification and plans to increase defense spending by 7.2% this year, focusing on military modernization.
