south korea - An interesting detail has emerged in the plane crash in South Korea, which claimed the lives of 179 people. The black box on the Jeju Air plane involved in the crash stopped recording flight data 4 minutes before the collision.

In South Korea, an interesting detail has come to light in the plane crash that claimed the lives of 179 people. It has been revealed that the black box on the Jeju Air plane involved in the accident stopped recording flight data 4 minutes before the crash. Investigations are ongoing regarding the plane crash that took place at Muan International Airport in South Korea.

The South Korean Ministry of Transport announced that the black box of the Boeing 737-800 aircraft was found to be malfunctioning just before the disaster. The statement said, 'Analyses have shown that both the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) and Flight Data Recorder (FDR) data were not recorded for the 4 minutes before the collision.'

The reason for the malfunction of these devices is not yet known. The statement also mentioned that 'CVR and FDR data are important for accident investigations, but accident investigations are conducted through the exploration and analysis of different sets of data. Therefore, we will continue to do our best to accurately determine the cause of the accident.'

Jeju Air flight 7C2216, a Boeing 737-800 passenger plane belonging to Jeju Air, took off from Bangkok, Thailand's capital, and crashed into a wall while landing at Muan International Airport on December 29. While 179 people lost their lives in the accident, only 2 cabin crew members survived with injuries.

The South Korean Ministry of Transport stated that the pilot requested emergency landing permission after receiving a bird strike warning from the tower, and landed on the fuselage with the landing gear closed. An investigation was launched to determine the exact cause of the accident.

It was determined that the plane involved in the crash had completed 13 flights in the 48 hours prior to the incident. Jeju Air announced that it suspended a total of 1,878 flights in the first quarter of the year to increase operational safety following the disaster.
