Nest puts users in the cold

Nest puts users in the cold

Tech January 14, 2016 14:21

- Owners of a smart thermostat Nest this week woke up in a cold house. An error in an update released last December, the battery is empty and the device is deactivated in the end.

Nest has confirmed the problems and say they are working hard on a solution. However, users do not have to stay put until then in the cold. By connecting the unit to restart manually, the problems belong to the past.
Hence the stocking seems settled, yet the software error can have major consequences. Perhaps Nest owners are on vacation and when it freezes a lot, it may be that in return pipes are frozen and cracked.
This shows that a software error in smart home appliances can have major consequences. Perhaps something to think about before you decide to purchase.
