as monaco, france - Sources reveal that Paul Pogba is close to ending his two-year absence from football by negotiating a deal with AS Monaco in Ligue 1.

Paul Pogba Nearing Return to Football with AS Monaco

Paul Pogba, a key member of France's 2018 World Cup-winning team, is on the verge of making a comeback to professional football after being sidelined for almost two years due to a doping suspension.

Background and Suspension

In September 2023, Pogba received a four-year doping ban from the Italian anti-doping tribunal, which was later reduced to 18 months on appeal. Consequently, his contract with Juventus was terminated in November of the same year, leaving him without a club.

Current Negotiations with AS Monaco

Sources have confirmed that the 32-year-old midfielder is currently engaged in advanced discussions with AS Monaco for a potential free agent transfer. Despite previous links to other clubs, including those in Saudi Pro League and FIFA Club World Cup, Pogba seems inclined towards joining the French team.

If the negotiations are successful, Pogba will make a return to French club football, marking a significant milestone in his career since departing Le Havre for Manchester United at the age of 16 in 2009.
