Sunderland Signs Granit Xhaka for Premier League Return

Sunderland has made a significant move by acquiring former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka as they prepare for their upcoming Premier League campaign.

Granit Xhaka's Return to England

Xhaka, 32, rejoins the English football scene after a prosperous two-year spell at Bayer Leverkusen.

The Swiss international played a key role in Bayer Leverkusen's historic Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal triumph in 2023-24 under the management of Xabi Alonso.

Sunderland's Premier League Comeback

Sunderland, who last played in the Premier League in 2016-17, secured their top-flight return by defeating Sheffield United 2-1 in the playoff final held in May.

Xhaka, who made 297 appearances for Arsenal, including winning two FA Cups, brings valuable experience to Sunderland's midfield.
