amsterdam - TikTok launches guided meditations for teenagers scrolling late at night to combat negative effects. The new feature aims to address mental health concerns among young users.

TikTok Introduces Guided Meditations for Teens

TikTok is taking a bold step to protect young users from the adverse effects of late-night scrolling by introducing guided meditations for teenagers who continue to swipe past 10:00 PM.

New Safety Measure

If users ignore the initial notification, a full-screen warning will appear shortly after, making it hard to overlook.

This initiative is part of TikTok's broader efforts to tackle mental health issues among its young audience, reflecting a growing focus on this issue by major tech companies.

Social media platforms face increasing pressure to safeguard young users. In the UK, platforms risk fines from July if they fail to actively address harmful content for young audiences.

Australia is taking more stringent measures, with under-16s set to be restricted from using social media from December. In Albania, TikTok has been recently banned.

TikTok is not alone in taking action. Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, along with Snapchat, are tightening their rules to create a safer online environment for young users.
