More deaths than births in EU

luxembourg - For the first time more people deceased in the European Union than there are babies were born. In 2015 were nearly 5.1 million babies in the world died and more than 5.2 million people. That made statistics agency Eurostat said Friday.
By migration from outside the union, there was still talk of a population increase. The EU had on January 1, 2016 510.1 million people, 1.8 million more than the year before.
In the Netherlands, have more babies born than died people: 170. 000. 147. 000 births versus deaths. The population grew slightly, to nearly 17 million people and is accounted for 3.3 percent of the EU population.
