More complaints against former campaign leader Trump

washington - Special prosecutor Robert Mueller has issued new charges against Paul Manafort, the former campaign leader of US President Donald Trump. Manafort and his business partner Rick Gates have, according to Mueller, been laundered for more than 30 million dollars (more than 24 million euros) and withheld from the tax authorities.

In the new indictment, Manafort and Gates are accused of tax fraud from 2010 to 2014 and of bank fraud. Neither would the two foreign accounts have been reported to the tax authorities. Last October, complaints were also filed against both parties. The two denied to be guilty.

Manafort was Trump's campaign leader from June to August 2016. He came into the picture during Mueller's investigation into the alleged Russian interference in the presidential election. Manafort is suspected of conspiring against the US and a number of financial crimes.
