- Real Madrid set sights on Arsenal's William Saliba as top defensive priority for upcoming transfer window.

Real Madrid Eyeing Arsenal's Saliba

Real Madrid is planning a move for Arsenal centre-back William Saliba in the upcoming summer transfer window. The 23-year-old defender has become the 'absolute priority' for Real Madrid to strengthen their defense, as reported by RMC Sport. Despite Real Madrid's keen interest, Arsenal is reluctant to let go of the talented French international and is expected to demand a high price for his services. If Saliba is to make the move, he could potentially become the most expensive defender in history, surpassing Harry Maguire's transfer fee to Manchester United in 2019.

Real Madrid's Other Transfer Targets

Real Madrid is also exploring a move for Real Sociedad midfielder Martín Zubimendi, considering him as a potential successor for Luka Modric. The LaLiga club has engaged in discussions with Zubimendi's representatives, who turned down a move to Liverpool last summer. Additionally, the release clause for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha has been revealed to be £62 million, attracting interest from multiple clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur.
