Many Dutch people use mail 'dead' provider
- In less than eight percent of Dutch households are still using an email address from an Internet service that no longer exists, such as @Home, Zonnet, Het Net and Casema. According to research from Broadband Shop among more than 10,000 Dutch.
The people who use these addresses, seem to find it a barrier to switching to another provider. This is mainly due to the fact that these addresses also be used for important things like DigiD and utilities.
The e-mail domains that many of these households still used as the primary address, read like a history of the Internet. Zonnet. namely, Planet. namely, Quicknet. nl and even Tiscali. viz. Among the rest of the Dutch Outlook (formerly Hotmail) is the most popular e-mail service (46 percent), followed by Gmail (33 percent). It is remarkable that as many as ten percent used an email address with your own domain name or work address.
