Lebanon army kills IS ringleader

- Lebanese armed forces have slain Thursday in a mountainous region on the border with Syria, a leader of Islamic State. That's what the Lebanese national news agency NNA reported and a source in the security services.

The military operation took place in the village Arsal in northern Lebanon. The ringleader was killed IS Nayif al-Shalaan, also called Abu Fawz.

The Lebanese army clashes in the mountainous north with regular fighters IS or therewith rival Nusra Front. In 2014 Arsal was run by fighters under foot and occupied for a short time.
