moscow - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday signed a law that the FTA with its neighbor Ukraine on 1 January suspends. On that date, the association agreement with Ukraine and the European Union should operate. Thus many trade barriers are removed and aims to more European-Ukrainian cooperation.

In fact the application of the Convention is possible delay. Not all EU countries have ratified it. In the Netherlands held a consultative referendum in April on closer ties with Kiev.

The treaty came into being in 2014 and was a major reason for the disputes in Ukraine. In addition, in early 2014 deposed a president and broke into the Russian- speaking east of civil war.
