- Real Madrid faces midfield issues as Eduardo Camavinga sustains a sprained ankle, adding to the club's woes ahead of the new LaLiga season, already missing Jude Bellingham due to injury.

Eduardo Camavinga's Ankle Injury Adds to Real Madrid's Midfield Woes

Real Madrid confirmed that Eduardo Camavinga has suffered a sprained ankle, compounding the club's midfield problems as they prepare for the upcoming LaLiga season. The 22-year-old midfielder has faced multiple injuries in the past year, affecting his playing time.

Midfield Challenges for Real Madrid

Camavinga's injury comes at a difficult time for Real Madrid, who are already missing key midfielder Jude Bellingham due to a shoulder injury. The club has refrained from signing a replacement midfielder in the current transfer window, further limiting their options in the middle of the park.

Last season, Madrid struggled with the central midfield position, and the recent departure of Luka Modric to AC Milan has exacerbated their situation. Despite strengthening their defense and forward line with new signings, Madrid's midfield remains a concern.

Upcoming Season and Transfer Strategy

Real Madrid is set to begin their 2025-26 season on Aug. 19 against Osasuna, aiming to recover from a trophy-less 2024-25 campaign. Coach Xabi Alonso has experimented with different midfield combinations, including using Arda Güler alongside Federico Valverde, Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Bellingham during the Club World Cup.

However, ESPN reports that Real Madrid does not intend to make further signings this summer unless a player leaves the club. The decision not to reinforce the midfield may pose a challenge for the team as they strive for success in the upcoming season.

Media and Sponsorship News

In other developments, Real Madrid's new third kit has garnered attention for its retro design, while forward Gonzalo García has agreed to a new deal with the club. Meanwhile, young talent Reinier has departed Madrid to join Atletico Mineiro on a free transfer.

Additionally, Disney+ is set to broadcast primetime LaLiga games in the UK and Ireland, providing fans with more access to top-tier Spanish football matches.
