Xabi Alonso, the current coach of Bayer Leverkusen, has revealed that he will be departing the German club to take over as the coach of Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Alonso, 43, led Bayer Leverkusen to an undefeated Bundesliga season in 2023-24, achieving a domestic double during his three-year tenure at the club.

Alonso confirmed his departure in a news conference, expressing gratitude towards fans, players, and staff, with his last game set against Borussia Dortmund.
