Judge denies Turkish journalist custody

- The Turkish journalist Arzu Yildiz on Wednesday sentenced to twenty months in prison for violating the confidentiality of a court hearing. Yildiz, who has two children, is also deprived of parental authority, told her lawyer.

The journalist took pictures out of a highly charged lawsuit over the alleged help of the Turkish intelligence radical Syrian insurgents. Four prosecutors were tried in the case because they had ordered the search of trucks on their way to Syria. According to Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan they were bent on making him black and humiliate Turkey.

Two other journalists were earlier this month sentenced to prison because they reported that the trucks were carrying weapons destined for radical Islamic rebels.
