Barcelona Signs Roony Bardghji for €2 Million

Barcelona has finalized the acquisition of FC Copenhagen winger Roony Bardghji for an initial fee of around €2 million. The 19-year-old talent has signed a contract with the Catalan club until 2029, with performance-related add-ons included.

Background and Contract Details

Roony Bardghji, born in Kuwait to Syrian parents with Swedish nationality, caught the attention of Barcelona after his impressive performances, despite an ACL injury setback. His contract with FC Copenhagen was set to expire in December, prompting Barcelona to secure his services for the future.

Future Plans and Loan Interest

Bardghji will join Hansi Flick's first team for preseason and is slated to participate in Barcelona's upcoming tour of Asia. While seen as a prospect for the future, Barcelona also believes he could contribute in the short term. The possibility of playing with the reserve team in Spain has not been ruled out, and reports suggest interest from other LaLiga clubs for a potential loan deal.

Performance and Recovery

Despite his young age, Bardghji showcased his talent by scoring 11 goals in the 2023-24 season, including a memorable goal against Manchester United in the Champions League. His progress was hindered by an ACL injury in May 2024, but after a 10-month recovery period, he returned to action in March this year, making six appearances in the Danish Superliga.
