LONDON - The extremists of Islamic State (IS) have executed in eighteen months an estimated 420 people from their own ranks. These are the observers of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) Tuesday raised.
These are mainly foreign IS fighters who were suspected to be a spy or IS deserters who tried to get away from 'the caliphate' of Islamic State.
The Sohr IS estimates that more than 3,700 people have been executed including by behead them, to shoot, to throw off of tall buildings or stoning. Under the 3700 victims were more than 2,000 civilians, including 106 women and 77 children.
IS 1277 would also captured fighters from other parties in the civil war to have been killed.
Estimates of the UK-based Sohr apply generally reliable.
