Renato Paiva, the coach of Botafogo, has shown interest in the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo joining the team for the upcoming Club World Cup in the United States. The Portuguese star has reportedly received an offer from an unnamed Brazilian club.

Renato Paiva's Comments

When asked about the reports linking Cristiano Ronaldo to his team, Paiva responded by saying, 'you can't say no to a star like that.' He acknowledged Ronaldo's goal-scoring prowess and expressed admiration for the player's abilities despite his age.

Paiva hinted that the decision ultimately lies with Botafogo's owner, John Textor, suggesting that the potential transfer could be influenced by Textor's approval.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Current Situation

Ronaldo, who will turn 40 in February, is yet to sign a new contract with Al Nassr, with his current deal set to expire on June 30. The Portuguese forward has had a successful season, scoring 33 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions for the Saudi club.

Al Nassr will not be participating in the Club World Cup, but Ronaldo could potentially feature in the tournament if he joins a Brazilian team like Botafogo.
