Newcastle United CEO: No Pressure to Sell Isak

Newcastle United's chief executive Darren Eales has confirmed that the club is determined to retain their top players and is not feeling pressured to part ways with striker Alexander Isak, amidst rumors linking him to other top European clubs.

Isak, who has been in impressive form with 22 goals in 31 appearances this season, has attracted interest from clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal. However, Eales emphasized that Newcastle plans to initiate contract extension talks with the 25-year-old Swedish international during the summer.

Eales stated, "We're not considering moving on any of our long-term contracted players. Our ownership is ambitious and prioritizes the club's best interests. We aim to compete at the highest level and want to keep our top players, including Isak, at the club. The continuous speculation about Isak's future highlights his value to the team, but we have no intentions of selling him."

Despite sitting in sixth place in the Premier League, Newcastle is looking forward to the upcoming summer transfer window with excitement. The club's revenue surged to £320 million ($409m) in the financial year ending June 2024, a 28% increase attributed to their Champions League return last season. Eales expressed optimism for the new cycle of Profit and Sustainability Rules and emphasized the importance of aligning player recruitment with manager Eddie Howe's vision for the team.
