Main Suspect Arrested in Louise's Murder Case

A breakthrough in the case of the brutal murder of 11-year-old French girl Louise, as DNA evidence links the main suspect, 23-year-old Owen L., to the crime scene.

Owen L. was arrested late Monday afternoon in connection with the murder of the schoolgirl, who was killed in the woods near Templiers, close to Épinay-sur-Orge, while walking home from school on Friday afternoon.

During initial interrogations, the young man started to confess his involvement in the crime, claiming it was not driven by sexual or criminal motives. However, further investigation is still ongoing to finalize this confession.

The suspect, described as a 'videogame addict', provided conflicting statements about his whereabouts on the day of the murder and was found with scratches and cuts on his hands. Police also discovered that he was wearing a dark jacket similar to the one worn by the suspect captured on video.

Owen L. resides near the crime scene, and several neighbors identified his features from a surveillance camera image showing a man in a black jacket with a hood over his cap following the schoolgirl as she left her school on Friday.

Three individuals close to the suspect, including his parents and 23-year-old partner, were also taken into custody on Tuesday for 'failure to report a crime.' The suspect's mother and partner are suspected of providing a false alibi.

Autopsy results revealed that Louise died a violent death caused by a sharp object, the nature of which remains undetermined and has not been located yet. The coroner noted over a dozen wounds, primarily on the girl's neck and torso. Initial medical examinations did not indicate any signs of sexual assault.
