leicester, uk - Elderly couple's home wrongly raided by police in Leicester after mistaking warmth from gas heaters for cannabis cultivation.

Elderly Couple's Door Rammed by Police

Barry and Mavis Lovelock's peaceful morning turned chaotic as ten officers raided their home in Leicester, suspecting cannabis cultivation due to excessive heat detected by a helicopter's thermal camera.

However, the officers discovered that the warmth came from the couple's gas heaters, not illicit activities. Mrs. Lovelock, moved to tears by the incident, explained they kept the heaters on due to feeling cold at their age.

Despite the apologies from the police, the Lovelocks were shaken by the forceful entry. The police, after a brief search, compensated the couple for any damages caused during the mistaken raid.

While the elderly couple's home was cleared, a cannabis farm was discovered three houses down with 79 plants confiscated. The investigation is ongoing with no arrests made yet.
