- A 92-year-old Argentine, who thought that after nearly forty years had found her granddaughter disappeared in 1976, a rude awakening has come home. A DNA test showed that it still goes to someone else.

The case caused jubilation in Argentina. Maria Isabel Mariani said Tuesday that she had retrieved her granddaughter. The reunion was seen as a victory for the Foolish Grandmothers who have been looking for clarification of the fate of their grandchildren who disappeared during the military dictatorship in the South American country. Even the newly elected president Mauricio Macri was pleased and sent a congratulatory via Twitter.
But prosecutor Pablo Parenti Saturday broke the joy. There is no genetic match between Mariani and her alleged granddaughter , he said.
