arvika/värmland - Rivallo P. has been convicted in Sweden for killing his wife with a sword. The family from the Netherlands moved to Sweden in 2021 to start a new life.

Rivallo P. has been sentenced to life in prison in Sweden for killing his wife with a sword. The family, originally from the Netherlands, relocated to the Swedish town of Arvika in 2021 in hopes of a fresh start.

On the fateful summer evening, Rivallo received a harsh message: his wife wanted a divorce and asked him to leave. However, he refused. In response, she packed his belongings and put them on the street. Initially unfazed, Rivallo later snapped. He grabbed a sword from his collection and stabbed his unsuspecting wife in the stomach while she was sitting on the couch.

During the trial, Rivallo claimed it was a joke, as reported by the Swedish publication Aftonbladet. He said, 'She asked me: What are you going to use the sword for? Are you going to knit with it? Then, as a joke, I made a move towards her, and the accident happened.'

The court in Värmland did not believe his statement. The judges ruled it was a deliberate murder, discounting any claims of mental disorders. On Thursday, it was announced that Rivallo P. will spend the rest of his life behind bars. The court concluded that he acted intentionally to end his wife's life, evident by his lack of effort to stop her severe bleeding.
