Julia Wandel, a woman who believes she is Madeleine McCann, has been charged with four counts of stalking. She has been taken into custody and is set to appear in court in Leicestershire on Friday. Two of the stalking incidents occurred between May 2, 2024, and February 15, 2025. Additionally, she faces charges for another stalking incident between January 3 and April 21 last year, and a fourth charge between November 27 and January 29 the previous year.

Another 60-year-old woman from Wales, who was also arrested on suspicion of stalking, has been released on bail, as confirmed by the police.

The disappearance of Madeleine McCann remains one of the most mysterious missing persons cases globally. Madeleine went missing in the Portuguese Algarve in 2007 while on vacation with her family.
