Germany selects September 24 new Bundestag

berlin - Germany is on 24 September to the polls for the Bundestag elections. The government rallied Wednesday behind a proposal by Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière.

Formally decides German President Joachim Gauck about the election, but the expectation is that he will take over the proposal of De Maizière. The Bundestag is, like the Lower House in the Netherlands, elected every four years. The Bundestag also elects the Chancellor.
