Suriname's New Coalition Government Formation

Suriname's potential ruling parties have revealed the distribution of positions within the government. The NDP secures significant roles, including President Jennifer Simons, Parliament Speaker, and six out of seventeen ministers, overseeing Finance, Planning, and Foreign Affairs.

Commitment to Inclusive Development

Vice President-elect Gregory Rusland's National Party of Suriname will lead three ministries, including Oil, Gas, and Environment, highlighting the government's focus on upcoming opportunities. With TotalEnergies and Apache set to start oil production in Suriname's deep sea in 2028, the government aims to maximize the country's participation in exploration.
