pennsylvania, usa - The deeply religious Amish community has taken revenge by supporting Donald J. Trump's bid for the White House. Find out why they were so angry.

The approximately 100,000 people living in simplicity, using horse and buggy for transportation and without mobile phones, registered as voters en masse for the first time following a call to action. Normally, only a maximum of ten percent of the community goes to the polls. The outraged crowd voted for Donald J. Trump. The media describes it as 'revenge at the ballot box'.

The conservative Christian group was incensed when the police raided farmer Amos Miller's farm last January for selling unpasteurized milk against government regulations. Amish people generally consume this milk, but it has gained popularity among celebrities like influencer/actress Gwyneth Paltrow. Amish cite the Bible, which prohibits processing, as their basis. Amos Miller also referred to this.

Donald Trump Jr. cleverly utilized this incident by suggesting that Justice Department could have spent their time better 'instead of going after farmers selling their milk to neighbors'. The police action sparked a larger political movement, according to a resident who spoke to the New York Post.

Police claimed the raid was necessary as people had fallen ill from Miller's raw milk.

In the state of Pennsylvania where the Amish reside, nearly 7 million people voted. Kamala Harris received 48.6% of the votes, while Trump got 50.5%. The difference was 'only' 130,000 votes (when 98% of the votes were tallied). The Amish and their sympathizers could have potentially been the deciding factor.

The exact number of Amish who voted remains unclear for now. However, there were reports of significantly more horse and buggies at polling stations.

According to the Express Tribune, conservative activist Scott Presler (with 1.9 million followers on X) was behind the call to vote Harris out. He allegedly convinced 180,000 people in the politically vital area to register and vote against the Democrats. Presler, advocating for rural communities, has garnered a considerable following. On X, he claims responsibility for the victory.
