rosario, argentina - Argentina forward Ángel Di María is set to play for his boyhood club Rosario Central after successful stints with top European clubs. Di María's return follows a decorated career with 30 titles in Europe and international honors with Argentina.

Ángel Di María to Rejoin Rosario Central

Argentine forward Ángel Di María is making a sentimental return to his boyhood club, Rosario Central, as announced by the Argentine Primera Division club. The 37-year-old, who retired from international soccer last year, began his professional career with Rosario Central in 2005 before embarking on a successful journey across Europe.

Di María's Illustrious Career

After leaving Rosario Central, Di María played for Benfica, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus, before returning to Benfica in 2023. Despite almost joining Rosario Central last summer, concerns over safety led him to postpone the move.

Throughout his career in Europe, Di María accumulated an impressive tally of 30 titles, in addition to winning six international honors with the Argentine national team. His achievements include two Copa América titles, the 2022 World Cup, and the 2008 Olympic Games.

Upcoming Transition

Di María is expected to make the move to Rosario Central following Benfica's participation in the upcoming Club World Cup in the United States. The Portuguese club is set to compete in Group C alongside Bayern Munich, Boca Juniors, and Auckland City.

The decision to return to his roots signifies a new chapter in Di María's career, with Rosario Central expressing excitement for the reunion through a social media post captioned, 'Our history together has more pages to write. Welcome home.'

Di María's return to Rosario Central marks a significant moment for the player and the club, bridging his illustrious international career with a nostalgic homecoming.
